COVID-19 Is Taking A Break. Researchers Aren’t.

Over the past two years, COVID-19 has hit us hard and often. Since the original virus raged into our communities in 2020, we’ve had to face two variants: first Delta, which spread fiercely and quickly, and then Omicron, which though less severe in general raced liked wildfire through our homes and our lives.

Right now, we’re seeking participants to join COVID vaccine booster shot studies. If you’re 18 or over and have been fully vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna (received both shots, but not a 3rd), you could help. Our doctors are evaluating boosters that have the potential to provide protection against future variants of the virus.

If you haven’t had your booster shot, consider participating in research studies to help doctors test the effectiveness of investigational boosters against strains of COVID that may emerge. Together, we have the potential to help the scientific community as it strives to develop the next generation of vaccines.

For the safety of both staff and patients, we require that our research sites are COVID-19 SMART facilities. That means they use best practices to reduce virus exposure and are dedicated to ensuring they remain open and available for the research of investigational medications.

COVID-19 SMART steps we are taking to ensure safety include:

Greatly increased availability of video office visits
Ensuring social distancing measures are taken in all waiting areas
Continuing the practice of cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms thoroughly between every visit
Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for all staff members at our health clinics
